❁ Rooted in rural Alberta and now based in Calgary, Dani has always felt a connection to both nature and creativity. That connection led her to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, which she completed with distinction from Alberta University of the Arts in 2015. Her path eventually led to the world of floral design—where she found not just creative fulfillment, but personal healing. Along the way, she completed a Floral Design Certificate through Mount Royal University.

❁ Her appreciation for thoughtful design and meaningful details led her to explore floral work as a way to merge creativity with technical skill in a more hands-on, real-world setting. In 2023, Dani founded Black Cat Florist, a small business guided by a simple mission: to create meaningful connections through flowers and celebrate the powerful, quiet magic of nature.

❁ Outside the studio, you’ll likely find her with a coffee, a book, and her partner Owen—plus their beloved feline companions, Kiki and Max, who keep life delightfully unpredictable.
